Capturing the ancient Viking/Celtic design from the amazing intricate drawings found in old manuscripts and metalwork, I have translated the original design to my filigree pendant. Each piece of filigree wire is painstakingly formed, then soldered in place with the granulation of silver beads onto the sterling silver disk pendant. I have also added a concave center disk (see the back of the pendant for detail), to resemble the warrior shields used of old. Triskele patterns were widely used by the Vikings and Celtic peoples, often symbolizing continuity, the seasons, and the ongoing cycle of life. It is a meditative pattern, in keeping with the harmony of nature, the sun, moon and stars.

The pendant is 1 inch in diameter, hung on an 18" sterling silver bead chain, and I've added a patina to both pendant and chain. Since I make these one at a time, each piece may have slight variations in the design.

The back of the pendant features a Futhark rune - this one is Wunjo,( joy).
